Bienvenidos
a la perla del occidente
Welcome to the Pearl of the West
Established in 1532, Guadalajara has long been the cultural heart of Mexico. Sitting in the heart of tequlia country, the Guadalajara is a cultural island in a sea of blue agave. From this city, lovingly called the Pearl of the West by locals, come core aspects of Mexican culture. It’s here where the famous Mariachi has its roots. Just outside the city, the now extinct volcano of Tequila gave the soil its ever-present shimmer and the terroir required to grow the agave that’s so essential to the spirit of the same name.
Guadalajara opens its doors to you to experience its storied cuisine, joyous music, world-renowned spirits, and 491 year old Spanish architecture. While here for our wedding, we invite you to explore.
Those from Guadalajara are called Tapatios. While you’re here, we hope you find yourself becoming más y más Tapatio by the day.
With love:— Raul + Lexi

Aeropuerto Internacional Guadalajara Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla
Located just to the south of the city, Guadalajara International Airport is the main gateway to the city. After disembarking, you will go through passport control and customs.
At customs, officials will ask you to press a button before you leave the area. The button randomly determines who will go through a secondary inspection. If you press the button and it lights up green, you're good to go. If it lights up red, customs officials will guide you to where you will go through secondary inspections.
From the airport to the hotel
After customs, you will find a fleet of liveried airport taxis—-pictured here—right outside of the airport doors. These taxis are licensed and certified by the airport authority and 100% safe to take. This will be the fastest way of getting between the airport and the city. Taxis will likely only take payment in cash Pesos, so be sure to get some before you leave the terminal. See FAQs, below.
You can also take an Uber. Note that from the airport, the pickup location is across the lot towards the parking garage. The Uber app will guide you. Uber accepts both card payment and cash, depending on your app settings.

Yes! You have a few different options. After passport control but before customs you will find a Globo Cambio kiosk that can exchange dollars for pesos. While convenient, this option does not offer the best exchange rate. Alternatively, you can find ATMs for all major banks in the country at arrivals, near the Starbucks.

The hotel is located in the historic city center. The trip from the airport to the hotel takes between 35 and 45 minutes depending on traffic. Traffic will also dictate whether your driver takes you through the city or around the beltway.
